LANGUAGE NOTE

Kkondae is Korean slang for a person who behaves in a condescending, old-fashioned, and authority-driven way—often tied to attitudes associated with aging or seniority, but not strictly limited to older people. In practice, the term describes a mindset or behavior (being bossy, inflexible, and quick to lecture) rather than a fixed age category.
