Shinsaegae means “New World.”

This is not a Western-style department store, but a large shop devoted to traditional Korean items, such as baby hanbok clothing, norigae, masks, fans, souvenirs, trinkets, short Korean-style dinner tables, and ceramics. They have lower-end Korean-made mink blankets ranging in price from $40 upwards.

Open most days 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Staffed by Korean clerks classically trained in rudeness towards non-Koreans. Strict “no camera”and “no video” policy.
