“Korean Folk Art” course at Glendale Community College explores the history, symbols and painting techniques of Minhwa art.

Minhwa refers to the Korean folk painting that focuses on mythical and magical figures, symbols of happiness, wealth and health, and scenes of everyday life. You will learn about the characteristic bold compositions, dynamic brush work, intense and bright colors of Korean folk art. Using these techniques, you will portray various subjects such as animals, flowers, trees, birds and everyday objects. A $10 material fee is payable to the instructor in class.
