On 4/3/2010 police investigators observed patrons of BoBo’s consuming alcoholic beverages after 2:00 am. The Department alleges a violation of Business and Professions Code, Sec. 25632, which prohibits the permitting of alcoholic beverages to be consumed during any hours in which it is unlawful to sell, give or deliver any alcoholic beverage for consumption on the premises… a violation of Condition #6 of the Conditional Use Permit, which requires that the hours of operation shall not exceed the hours of 11:00 am to 2:00 am daily.

LAPD witnesses Officer Kimberly Dedmon and Sgt. Daniel Robbins testified that they observed alcohol being consumed at BoBo’s after 2:00 am on 4/3/2011.

Woo Seop Jay Shim, owner/shareholder, acknowledged in testimony that employee Joon Sup Park, manager, was responsible for the violation concerning alcohol and insisted that an an owner who was not always at the locaiton, he had no knowledge of the unlawful action.

On July 27, 2011, LAPD discovered cigarettes being sold at the business without possession of a City of Los Angeles permit for sale of tobacco. It was also discovered that there was no Cafe Entertainment Show (CES) police permit.

On September 17. 2011, LAPD found that the doors and windows of the karaoke rooms were frosted glass, whereas clear glass was required under the Alcoholic Beverages Control (ABC) license.


The business operator shall NOT require an admission or cover charge, NOR shall there be a requirement to buy a minimum number of drinks.

The quarterly gross sales of alcoholic beverages shall not exceed the gross sales of food during the same period.

No discount alcoholic beverages or “Happy Hour” shall be offered at any time.

Any sale of alcoholic beverages at a bar area shall be incidental to the sale of food.


* Use of the outdoor patio shall be limited to a smoking area only; no food or beverage service shall be permitted.

* There shall be no live entertainment, dining tables, private events or amplified sound permitted in the outddor patio area.
