3440-3460 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA

Central Plaza LLC (as of October 2013)

The Central Plaza office towers are currently occupied by offices, college classrooms and ground-floor cafes. The building is a hybrid of structural steel construction integrated with concrete shear walls.

Building records show a voluntary seismic retrofit in 2001 using Chapter 95 in the city’s building code, which applies to reinforced concrete buildings designed before 1976. However, the building is not considered the type of concrete building defined by Chapter 95 — the chapter was used as a guideline for certain parts of the retrofit, according to a structural engineer involved with the retrofit.

Among current tenants are The Halal Guys, Brown Bag Cookies, and Laon.
