Liberty Park
Liberty Park is a privately owned 2.5-acre green space at 3700 Wilshire Boulevard.
The park was created when the Beneficial Insurance Group developed the lot between Oxford and Serrano Avenues at 3700 Wilshire Boulevard with an 11-story building in 1967. It became their headquarters named Beneficial Plaza, renamed Wilshire Park Place, and in 2026 formally rebranded as Liberty Park Tower. For decades, locals referred to it as the Radio Korea lawn, instead of any of its official monikers.
Jamison Services owns the property and is currently converting the office tower into 370 live/work apartments.
* In March 2018, the Los Angeles City Council voted to declare Beneficial Plaza and Liberty Park in Koreatown a Historic-Cultural Monument (HCM). It is locally designated as Historic-Cultural Monument #1157 and has been identified as eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places.
Liberty Park features a central expansive open lawn framed by a semi-circular promenade along its south, east, and west sides, creating a horseshoe-like configuration that emphasizes open, unobstructed space for passive recreation. The lawn, slightly elevated above street level and bounded by a concrete retaining wall, is accented by an off-center grove of Canary Island pine trees providing shade, alongside minimal hardscaped elements such as concrete paths edged with shrubs and sunken planters. To the south, a rectangular plaza paved in a grid of black and red granite connects via shallow concrete steps, with curving ramps facilitating access from adjacent streets. There are flagpoles and a replica Liberty Bell on a low podium.
