Established in 2007.

The creation of Michael Lane & Jim Crotty (“the Monks” of Monk Mag fame), Monk Space is a raw warehouse/studio for shooting indie & student films, music videos, webisodes, and photography. It is also available for private events & art shows.

Complex includes 1000 sq. ft. raw warehouse, adjoining 532 sq. ft. white studio, 654 sq. ft. of outdoor space, and 600 sq. ft. upstairs makeup/green room.

Located in production-friendly Koreatown, this 80-year-old brick building includes electric, WIFI, track lighting, and two bathrooms. Warehouse & studio have tall ceilings, and concrete floors. Warehouse has distressed brick walls, skylight,and two sliding wooden door entrances that join an outdoor patio & brick alley.

There are 2 entrances to the street, as well as parking for production trucks, vans & cars. The combined spaces are perfect for shoots that need room for production, craft services, & holding. Monk Space is centrally located near 101 & I-10. It is ten minutes by car from Hollywood and a ten-minute walk from the Wilshire/Western subway station.
