“The Cottage” / Einar C. Petersen Studio Court

Located in what is now North Koreatown, on Beverly near Kingsley Drive.

Designed by Einar C. Petersen and built in 1922.

Multifamily property with six units plus office with historic designation.

Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument No. 552.

As of 2021, if you’re facing it while standing in the middle of the street, you’ll see a Korean restaurant to the right of this house, while Latino retail stores are what you’ll see on the left. It’s not a fairy-tale neighborhood at all; it’s what would be considered urban.

It’s difficult to take an obstruction-free photograph of the house because of the pedestrian lights on the left and the electricity box right in front, slightly to the side.
