SM Town Museum announced in 2013.

The building was purchased in cash for $4 million by Creative Space Development Property, LLC, on July 26, 2013, on behalf of SM Entertainment USA.

S.M. Ent is a South Korean entertainment corporation known for slave contracts and legal disputes with trainees and contract celebrities. It recently went on the offensive trying to discredit Wu Yifan, one of their former stars who filed a lawsuit to formalize his escape from the company.
