A woman is suing the owners and managers of the Wilshire Boulevard building where she worked for an alleged sexual assault by an intruder in 2021.

 
The plaintiff is identified only as Jane Doe D.R. in her Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit against Paramount Plaza Inc., Jamison Properties Inc. and her accused assailant, Emil William Neal.
 
Doe alleges sexual assault, premises liability and negligence, and she seeks unspecified compensatory and punitive damages.
 
A Jamison Properties representative did not immediately reply to a request for comment on the suit brought Dec. 12.
 
According to the complaint, Doe went to work at the building in the 3500 block of Wilshire Boulevard on Dec. 13, 2021, and was physically beaten and sexually assaulted in her office by Neal, who did not have a legitimate reason to be there.
 

Neal also “attacked, assaulted and sexually assaulted” three other women who were also working at the building, according to the suit, which further states that Neal was able to walk into the structure through the lobby and take an elevator to where he allegedly attacked the four women.

The building owners and managers hired security guards, but they were not deployed effectively that day despite management’s knowledge that criminal conduct was prevalent in the general area, the suit states.

Doe has dealt with serious, permanent injuries, emotional distress and financial losses, according to her suit.
